ALFRISTON SCHOOL, EAST SUSSEX
As a regular visitor to Alfriston School in East Sussex, on this occasion I was invited by Head Teacher, Lindsey Hudson, to offer instruction on celestial mechanics as part of the educational curriculum. With models to hand, the students gathered in the School's assembly hall and classrooms and I offered guidance on the orbital motions of the Solar System, incorporating the phases of the Moon and total and partial eclipses of the Sun, as well as answering a raft of ever-insightful questions from these eager pupils who never fail to inspire me with their enthusiasm and knowledge. Here's to the next event, outdoors, on 19 January 2017.
