CATHEDRAL OF THE STARS

On Friday 25 November 2016, Alfriston's beautiful St Andrew's Church, known as the 'Cathedral of the Downs' transformed into the 'Cathedral of the Stars' when, for one-and-a-half hours, I presented an audio-visual spectacular; a journey into the Universe, and beyond.

Having presented all over the world, in many amazing venues, a Church was a 'first' for me and it provided a magical, haunting backdrop with wonderful acoustics.

The event was in aid of the Church's ongoing Restoration Fund. Extensive advertising, including a number of interviews on BBC Sussex and Surrey Radio and Uckfield 105FM Radio, as well as features in the local Press and social media, ensured the Church was packed, and I mean literally stuffed to the rafters! All pews were full, as was the upstairs Gallery and the stairs leading thereto! Mercifully, the Church Warden secured more chairs from the nearby Village Hall and these filled any spare space that could be had. Fabulous!

What a night! Feedback on the night, and since, has been overwhelming.

A total of £790 was raised which, in the words of a very appreciate Rector, Daniel Merceron, was 'sensational'. What a night!
